Flight Club
Submitted by Mark Dowsett on Tue, 07/15/2008 - 21:49.It's pretty bad...I have to turn to online video games to get some airtime. I hadn't played Flight Club in ages so I looked it up. It looks like the game has moved from the late Dan Burton's old site to this Urban75 site.
Upon Googling for it, I also find this blog post from Dan's brother. I like the quote he posted of Dan's - "Remember, the best pilot is the one that is having the most fun."
Track Servers - syncing together
Submitted by Mark Dowsett on Tue, 07/08/2008 - 09:16.I love track servers - I use it now as my log book as I make sure I always fly with a GPS recording my flight. I lost interest long ago in writing down my flights in my log book...I'm not sure why as I used to enjoy that. I guess now I just love to share my flights with the rest of the World...well...if anyone cares that is!

Hang Gliding fun for a dollar
Submitted by Mark Dowsett on Thu, 06/05/2008 - 18:28.The weather sucks over here in Ontario....so I gotta get my hang gliding fix somehow!
My mom found these at the dollar store:

The thing really goes well - amazing what you can find at the dollar store.
But I can never get a chance to fly it myself....Brody always wants to give it a whirl. I figure, I better teach him hang gliding early!

Miles in May - Sun, Day 1
Submitted by Mark Dowsett on Mon, 05/19/2008 - 10:56.Now for the good part of day 1 at the Miles in May....they had a 103km task to the SE of Vulcan. Apparently the day took a while to get good. Ross Hunter was the only one to make goal. I talked to Rob Clarkson and he made it 20km short of goal.
Today (holiday Monday) brings overcast skies and a not-so-good forecast for today and the next two days look rather rainy.

Donations enabled
Submitted by Mark Dowsett on Mon, 05/12/2008 - 12:07.I've been planning to do so for a while and have just been urged to put up a donations system to support my endeavors thru this site. Thanks to my first contributor for testing the system.
Most of the site is free to use for all. The only thing that is charged for is advertising (and I don't have a formal charging system in place quite yet). The site offers a lot for the world wide hang gliding and paragliding communities:
