Last weekend Dave showed up for his first flight in his new Mitch McAleer cocoon harness. It's a dam work of art. Dave spent the late morning tweaking the fit of the harness with "Wizard's cloak" design.

A morning of carnage

Chad G. and Kevin S. were out again for lessons. I met them just after 7am. Tom was teaching a HG student and Liz was on the training hill as well. Lessons were going well until Tom's student, flying from 1/2 way up the hill, paralleled the hill too closely after a turn, and landed safely with his nose into the wind 1/3 of the way up the hill. I'd never seen a downhill landing like it.

After getting to bed at 1am, I was up at 6am and grabbed training gliders on the way to the hill. Chad G. was out along with Kevin S. from Cedar City for his first lesson. Both lessons went very well. Both pilots are right where they need to be at this point in their training. We wrapped up just before noon.

Adam and Alex visit - and we three amigos fly again...

It's been about 18 months since I've seen Dr. West. He's been back in South Africa inundated with field work and life in general. He had been working in California for a month and stopped in for three days last week. Alex had a brief break from work, and flew in to SLC to reunite the three amigos for the weekend.
