Down wind dash
Today we got together as a group and deceided to do a 114km task to the north. We all managed to get together over quest before we headed on course. Clay was having a radio and deceided to hang out at quest. I never got to the top with the rest of the group and followed behind and low. We got our next thermal about 10km out. I arrived low and never was able to catch up to the group and they droped me. Bruce landed and the group split up a bit. It was a blue day with base around 6000'. I get good climbs over 3000' and try not to get below 2000' or you spend a long time getting back up. Ralf and Fiona both were feeling sick. Ralf landed about 30km out and Fiona was about 45. I got down to 400' and found some 0 sink. The ground looked real close as I turned thinking come on you can do it. I kept looking at the feild I picked to land when it dawns on me the ground probaly isn't sea level here. As it turns out the ground was 200' asl. Better judgement took over and I turned into my landing feild. I landed on the infeild of a dirt horse race track. I phoned Ross because he said he landed 48km from goal. He got in trouble becase they have 3 million dollar race horses. I had a nice visit with a guy from Montreal. Scott Brett and John made it to goal. Tomorrow we head to the ridge for one more day of practice before the comp.
