Canadian Nats day 2 & 3
Surprise, surprise....there's been a drought here in Lumby for all of May - no rain in ages....so we thought we'd help out the local farmers by hosting a hang gliding competition.
Days 2 & 3 (Mon & Tues) were weathered out. We went up Coopers yesterday even tho the skies didn't look favourable. We ended up calling off the day and had a quick spot landing contest and the Lumby Air Races put up $200 of prize money ($100 for first, $60 for second, $40 for third). Only six pilots didn't drop their base tube (or more...) and I ended up winning (33' from the target, Leif was second at 60' and Greg Lloyd was 3rd with 80'.
It's pouring rain here today and tomorrow isn't looking too good.
