US/Central

The North American comp season kicks off with the Santa Cruz Flats event. It'll be the premiere event of the year with all the top ranked pilots in North America coming. Bigger than the National Championships!

Right: Meet Headquarters. It was the old training center for the San Fransico Giants baseball team... thus the pool is in the shape of a bat!

We also have a limited number of rooms set aside at a special rate at the Francisco Grande Resort. They can be contacted directly at (520) 836-6444. Just mention the Santa Cruz Flats Race and they will give you the discounted rate.

Below: Jamie Sheldon at Sunset in 2007.

PAYMENT OPTIONS The event is over-subscribed and there is a growing list of pilots on the waiting list that need to make travel plans to get here if they are allowed in. We need to confirm registrants by receiving payments promptly. Here are your payment options:

1) Use the PAY NOW button below to use Paypal to put it on your credit card - entry and tow fees amount to $515us. If you wish to pay by credit card, follow the link in the email - if you don't or can't use Paypal, see option 2.

2) For US residents, if you wish to save $20, send a US currency check for $495us payable to "Jamie Sheldon" post marked no later than Monday February 18th, 2008. You also need to email Jamie by Monday saying "the check is in the mail". Mail checks to: Jamie Sheldon 1369 Highway A1A, #4; Satellite Beach, FL 32937

If we don't hear from you by end of day Monday, we'll be offering your spot to the next in line.

Refund policy: if you cancel by February 20th (2 months before of the start of the meet), you get a full refund; if you cancel on or before March 20th, you get half back and within one month of the meet, there is no refund.

Can't get a room does anyone want to share?

When I tried to book something it was to late, so I'm looking for someone who might be alone in a room and would like to share it.

Room

I took my car/gear to Fco Grande a few days ago, and got a shuttle ride to PHX from a very cool older gentleman from Hawaii. Since I need a room for 18th/19th, he told me he would rent me a decent room in his trailer? for $50/night. He said it's about 7 miles from the resort. If someone needs a room for cheap they may be able to negotiate a lower rate for the week. His name is Ran 520-518-0656. He works for J&M Shuttle....$55 one-way to/from PHX which is a good deal since it's about 50 miles. Call them 24 hours in advance...520-426-3937

Rigid Wing ride needed from Lookout Mtn, GA

I would love to fly in this comp but before I can do that I need to get my glider there. I am wondering if anyone would be able to transport it for me from the North Georgia area? I fly a Phantom rigid so it is a bit larger than your standard flexy. Any help?

RV info

My dad is coming down to drive for me, and he's wondering if there's anywhere he can park his RV (hook-ups?).

Thanks,
Zippy

Driver

Hey, does anyone need a good drive? Mike McFadden (nephew of Russel Brown) will be launch director and would like to drive for a decent team and make a few bucks. If anyone is in need, let me know. Mike is the greatest - anyone who has been to the Flytec meet knows him as one of the best launch crew we've got.

Driver

Don't know if Mike Mc Fadden is meanwhile full. I f not, I would love to join his team or any other for retrieval.
Safe landings,
Heiko

Yup need driver

As usual I'll need a driver and would be thrilled to have someone experienced. Don't have a team yet but I hope after TX last year I'll be more apt to make goal.

driver

Ben/Bruce,

I'm flying with a pilot from N.M. and we have a driver. We could probably take on two more. If you wanted to meet-up in Morro Bay, you are welcome to car-pool to Az with me. Drop me an e-mail.

John Hesch

Driver

Ben/Bruce,
Drop me a note if you are interested in joining up. I am flying w/ one pilot from N.M. and we have a driver. If you are willing to meet at my place, we could car-pool from Morro Bay together in my van. I'm in europe for another week, but leave a # and I'll call when I return.

John Hesch

Maybe can carry glider(s) from FL

This is tentatative, but I plan is to drive out from S. Fla around Mar 30. Maybe I can carry one or two gliders for other Florida pilots. But we'll need to store them somewhere for two weeks before the meet cause I'll be flying to work from PHX on 4/3 and returning 4/18, unless they'll be ok on top of car in airport parking.
Bill

edit...I may be staying out west for a while after Santa Cruz.

Hi Bill, I might take you up

Hi Bill, I might take you up on your glider ride offer Hopefully it will only be bring it back to Florida.

Any central east coast pilots have or need a glider ride? Thanks, Peter

Need Glider ride

Peter,
Saw your post and I indeed need a glider ride if you have one. It seems like there are a few east cost pilots heading out where are you leaving from? Thanks

Charlie

Keep registering. Waiting list registrants are highly likely to get a spot and we may increase the pilot limit if we get more tugs. Also, no one is confirmed until they have paid in full, and after a certain date, if still unpaid, their spot will be passed to you on the waiting list. KEEP REGISTERING!

Tug Pilot

I'll be driving form either Wa. State or Calif. If anyone needs equipment brought out to the meet I have room for 4 gliders and equipment. I'll put most everything in the trailer (except the wings) so it'll be protected.

Call for details and to work out transport $$
