Half-way Comp
The event so far has brought lighter conditions than we had last year....and a bit more wind. It's been making our tasks more challenging and we haven't been calling triangle tasks (or completing them) as much. Still fun tho! And an amazing venue.
It's just been less than consistent and it being my first event (and flying) for the year hasn't resulted in great results for me. I've landed exactly half way thru the course everyday....how bizarre. I joke about it everyday to Donna but it is frustrating. Especially on day 4 where we had the strongest lift (1000fpm) up to our highest altitude (almost 11,000') and then glided right to the ground without seeing any more lift.
The fourth day was good for three Canadians....Brett, Scott and Mark Salese made goal. I haven't even seen Mark S since then to congratulate him but I think it's his first goal ever....as I think this is his first competition. Nice job Sal!
Yesterday (day 5) was a bit too windy and the day was called off. It was a fun day hanging out with family around the pool and a nice diner. Today the forecast looks like less wind and a bit stronger lift than the first few days.....my guess is we'll be doing a triangle today with a bit more reliable lift. I hope to make it back to goal!
Wish us luck!

yes Mark, I can imagine
yes Mark,
I can imagine Donna finds it very frustrating if you only go half way all the time.
Try to Keep it up.
Cheers
