Tow Jam Report
I really appreciate the kind words and it was a pleasure having you all
over for Tow Jam. I was very pleased with how things turned out and I
hope everybody had a great time. I especially thank those who made it
possible to give three non-pilots the experience of flight. They were
very excited with the come-by-chance experience. Mabel, the nurse from
Halifax, sent me an e-mail thanking us all and said she didn't get much
sleep that night.
"Hi,
It was my first but not last.
Thankyou ALL for A Most Amazing Day.
Still in awe of the whole experience.
I could not sleep just soo greatfull to you .
Thanks soo VERY much,
Mabel"
I really think the big thanks go to those who made it possible for us
all to get in the air. Michael Fuller has been here every year now for
four years. Each year has been a gamble but nevertheless he dragged his
winch over here without any hesitation. Thanks Michael....I really mean
it! Without your support this event wouldn't be anything close to what
it has turned out to be.
I want to thank Jacques and Suzanne Blanchet, you guys took the chance
coming all the way from Quebec. It was a real pleasure meeting you both
and you always have a place to stay here in PEI, anytime you want.
Thanks for getting me high over PEI. It was an experience I dreamt of
every day for a long time. I was beginning to think I would never see
the day after a few years of trying. Thank you very much to the both of
you.
Thanks to Tim Riecker and Randy Corcoran for being a solid ground crew.
Tim, I really wish you had of hooked in for a flight. It was very nice
flying and the view was quite impressive. We all owe both you and Randy
for your efforts and somehow we are going to make it up to you guys.
Everyone of us owe Slemon Park a great deal of gratitude. Tom Capstick
and Dick Lubbersen have been amazing and without them we would be seeing
very different results. Tom and Dick, thanks from all of us for all
your efforts.
Last, but not even close to the least, I want to thank all of you who
took the time to join Cathy and I for the weekend. We had allot of fun
hosting the event and you all are welcome to come back anytime you
wish.
I hope I didn't miss anybody, if I did it is only because of my
excitement of a very successful Tow Jam. I am still flying high from
the weekend.
Some of the records broken on PEI this past weekend:
Highest PG flight over PEI, 2978 feet, Tim Parker
Highest HG flight over PEI, 3550 feet, Christopher Ball
First ever tandem flight over PEI, Jacques & Suzanne Blanchet
First ever non-pilot tandem flight over PEI, Jacques Blanchet (pilot)
and Mabel Chaytor (passenger)
First HG cross country flight over PEI, 8.2 Kilometers (glide out
only), Christopher Ball
Most tows over PEI, Michael Fuller (operator), Jacques & Suzanne
Blanchet (operators), Randy Corcoran (operator in training/driver), Tim
Riecker (driver)
My personal best, no vario - no altitude record, however, my highest
flight over PEI by 4 times or more.
Thanks Everybody!
