Pre-Worlds opening ceremonies

Although it was considered to be a rest day, we went up the hill around noon to fly. Launch conditions weren't good, and out motivation quickly waned. We opted to head for the swimming hole at the bottom of the road to launch.

After a quick swim, we headed to Sisterone to tour a Citadel that's over 2000 years old. The expansive castle-like compound was really impressive. Sisterone was as well.

We got back just in time for the opening ceremonies. The mayor was out and gave a speech along with a large band. There were a couple of vintage gliders set up and all the teams were there. A couple hundred of the locals turned out to watch the ceremony.

Tomorrow we get on with the business of flying.
