US Nationals - Day 7

Just fired up the computer for a quick synopsis as the party continues.

60 mile out and return today. Conditions were a lot lighter than forecasted and there was a stiff wind coming back. Thermals were broken and rough. A full on bar fight on the way home over deep terrain.

I flew well and was very pleased with my performance. Had a personally rewarding low save which enabled me to get over a range and into goal. As I arrived I saw Zippy already at goal.

Zac flew well all week and made few mistakes. He simply out flew me and I'm stoked for his success.

Dave Gibson was the third and last pilot in goal today. His performance put him ahead of Bill Soderquist overall in the meet. After crossing goal and hearing that Bill had landed out over the radio, Dave celebrated with three or four smooth, slow, stylish loops over the LZ. He completed his impressive routine with a whack and the crowd went wild. :)

The meet organization has been flawless. Mike and Gail Haley have done an amazing job. More pilots need to support their events. They bend over backwards to make sure everyone's happy and taken care of. WELL DONE.

Another batch of margaritas has been brought out, so it's on.

Cheers.
