South in the CRD

At this time of the year the seabreezes are pretty much gone so, instead, we rely on systems blowing through from the south. Hopefully they don't bring rain with them and, if they aren't too east or too west or too strong, we can soar the bluffs along Dallas Road in Victoria. Today was one of those days.

It started early with Paul getting in an hour in the morning. I came down around noon and hopped Clover Point during a south-easterly session (easy getting over, harder getting back). Paul then flew in the early afternoon and I came back around 3pm and flew until close to 5pm - easy point hopping on the Magic5 (I was passing cars on the way back with the bar stomped).

Amir showed up and test flew the Magic5. "I gotta get me one of these!" And, as per usual, Phil logged many hours. I think Paul got 3 or 4 himself.

Did I mention that Hannah the VIParagliding Mascot will be on TV tonight?
And the pod of orcas that decided to make an appearance in the kelp beds just west of Clover Point and then again over in Ross Bay? Paul got a great view during his flight and I saw a few good breaches from a distance during mine.

Paragliding is cool.
