Bad news > Dean Williams long time Rigid pilot from conn. flying his Mill had a bad accident here a Ellenville yesterday. Injuries include concussion, broken collar bone, collapsed lung, crushed ribs on left side , shattered left femur. He's in critical condition. Appears He may have forgot to fully attach the nose catch. He flew for about 3 hrs but the glider came apart at 300 feet above the LZ dove and spun. He fired his ballistic chute but the 1' tubular nylon (no good ) bridle broke off. He Dove in over 200'. Some how the glider leveled a bit before impact and the cage saved him.
