On Monday morning I was hoping for a strong south wind in the morning to help me run with my 71 pound (32 kgs) Wills Wing T2C-144 behind the low and slow scooter tow. The forecast was for 10 mph in the morning but it didn't look that strong.
BlueSky, foot launching with the Moyes Matrix Race harness

On Sunday, I got out early to practice foot launching harnessed in my Moyes Matrix Race harness and being pulled from my aerotow pro-tow bridle. I wasn't sure how this would work out with the boot flapping at back of my legs as I ran along. Would it trip me up? Would I waddle instead of run? Would Steve pull me to the ground? Would the tow forces be too high up on my chest?

The sky was full of cummies from noon on. But Steve felt that the sky would be lying, with the north north wind. He said that there would be bullet thermals with lots of sink in between.

Paul Olson was here on Thursday from the Whitewater hang gliding club with instructions to get instruction from Steve Wendt on how to tow safely so that they won't have another of the kind of accident that they've already had with their scooter tow setup in Wisconsin this year (perhaps we can hear from Rik and Paul about that). Steve brought out the Honda Elite 250 to more closely match the 125 at Whitewater and to make it just a little more difficult to be the scooter tow operator.
