Welcome to the fifth year of the annual Rat Race Paragliding Competition held in beautiful Southern Oregon. Rat Race 2007 is a seven day event with an emphasis on education and training in GPS use and competition strategies. The race format is Cross Country/Race to Goal.

Competitor entry requirements:
Current USHPA membership, P 3 or foreign equivalent,
Glider & equipment requirements: Paraglider & Harness, Helmet, Reserve, GPS and Radio capable of receiving and transmitting on all official USHPA frequencies. Subject to inspection by meet/safety director

VIP2 is a newcomer to MPH Sports competition line-up as well as being the USHPA selection for Paragliding Nationals 2007. Lakeview, Oregon will roll out the red carpet to welcome paraglider pilots for this seven day competition. The race format is Cross Country/Race to Goal.

This is what we know so far, dates probably 7-18, team size at least 6, I am going for a second team of 6 if there is room, civl will decide, if not second team of 6 I am asking for one team size of 8. Experience same as all the Florida and Texas AT comps. See past rules at flytec.com

Finishes up just in time for the Lakeside Event (Invermere Splashdown) just down the valley.

Lumby Air Races

June 9,10 and 11 2006 will kick off the first annual "LUMBY AIR RACES" in Lumby BC Canada for Hang Gliders and Paragliders, in conjunction with Lumby Days. Landings will be at The Lumby Air Park two km north of town off of Mabel Lake road.
Entry fee only $25.00 thanks to sponsorship support
$1000.00 Minimum Guaranteed Cash Purse for 1 valid round (Thanks to The Lumby Days Society).
The purse will be expanded to $2000.00 (Thanks to The Lumby Air Force, The Lumby Air Park Inc. and SkyZlimit Production Ltd.) for a valid HPAC points event as determined by the competition committee.
Hedley Fly-In
Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 02/04/2006 - 17:33.The Upper Similkameen Indian Band wishes to invite the world paragliding community to the Hedley Open, and Mountain Festival May3rd-10th,2006 . Tasks will be GAP scored and all include the usual fun GPS tasks such as race to goal via turnpoints over Hedley's excellent terrain. This is a new and exciting Canadian venue with "huge air" potential. Besides paragliding there will be many attractions, mountain films, Salmon BBQ's and multi-sport festivities. Fraser Valley XC Series HG

We are trying a bit of a different format - see Turnpoint Accumulation
It will be either a two or three weekend event in an attempt to get four valid rounds.

Week 1: April 29-30
Week 2: May 27-28
Week 3: June 3-4 (tentative)
Rules are simple:
- $15 entry fee
- launch will be decided each morning
- launch at anytime, land by sunset
- multiple launches are OK (no top landings). Only one flight per day will be scored
